How long will it take me to complete this course?

I have designed this course to take 10 weeks.

If you do 1 unit per day, 5 days a week, you will finish this course in 10 weeks. By that point you will have set up and designed your blog, written 10 high quality blog posts, set up your social media accounts and begun promoting your blog posts, gained a basic understanding of SEO (how to get search engines to send you more traffic), started to get your first subscribers and sent out your first 3 newsletters - and lots more besides.

However, the course itself is entirely self-paced so you can progress through the course as slowly or as fast as you would like!

How soon will I start earning money?

This is difficult to answer as results will be different for everyone, depending on how much work you do, how fast you get through the course, how well you write blog posts, your blogging niche and a whole load of other factors. Some people may start to make money from their blogs in a matter of weeks, while for others it may take several months. I realise it can be frustrating to wait, but by following the action steps in this course you will be laying down a really solid framework that will enable your blog to grow and make good money for years to come.

My advice to you is don't give up your day job... yet. Instead, treat your blog as a side hustle to start with and, in time, you will begin to make good money - and if you really work hard and consistently on your blog, you will almost certainly get to the stage where you can quit your day job before too long!

I don't have a blog yet, is this course right for me?

YES! This course is perfect for you. This course teaches you how to plan, set up, design and launch a self hosted WordPress blog from scratch, as well as how to write blog posts, how to grow your blog and how to make money blogging.

I’ve only just started my blog, is this course right for me?

Absolutely! Some of the things I teach on this course you may have already done, but this course goes far beyond just starting a blog. On this course I teach how to write high quality blog posts, how to get traffic to your blog, how to promote your blog via social media, the basics of SEO, email marketing, how to make money blogging and much more.

My advice to you is to look at the course curriculum and see what I teach on this course - chances are there's a lot you haven't done yet, so you'll still get loads out of this course!

I have a hobby blog, is this course right for me?

That depends. If you have a basic hobby blog that you would like now to turn into a business, then most probably yes.

My advice to you is to look at the course curriculum and see what I teach on this course. How much of that have you done? If there are lots of things you haven't done, then yes - you are likely to get a lot out of this course.

I’m on Blogger/Squarespace/Wix/WordPress.com can I still do this course?

Yes and no. There are lots of parts of this course that you can still do if you are on Blogger / Squarespace / Wix / WordPress.com etc. However, I would strongly advise that you switch to a self-hosted WordPress site, if you possibly can. Not only will this mean you get a lot more out of the course, but it will also mean you will be able to do grow your blog much faster and make money much sooner.

In this course, I teach how to start a self-hosted WordPress site, but I DO NOT teach how to transfer your site from Blogger / Squarespace / Wix / WordPress.com etc. to self-hosted WordPress, as this is not my area of expertise. If you need help with this, I suggest you first do Week 1 of the course and then, when you have selected a web host, ask them for help transferring your site over to self-hosted WordPress. After that you will be able to continue with the course.

Is there any benefit to doing this course but not doing the action steps?

Nope! You will only see the benefits of this course if you do the actions too!!

I am a total blogging newbie, will I be able to understand this course?

Absolutely! I have designed this course assuming you have no blogging knowledge. I use ‘normal person’ English and explain blogging jargon. But if you do get stuck, you can ask for help in the private, students only Facebook group. I am in there most days and I always prioritise answering questions from my course students. Not only that, but there are plenty of other bloggers active in the group (many of whom are Profitable Blogging Jumpstart students too) who will also be able to help you - usually much more quickly than I can!

Will there be any additional costs or hidden charges?

I wish that I could tell you that blogging is cost free. But sadly, like all businesses, there are some set up costs. In this course I will tell you exactly what you really need to spend money on and what is a waste of money. (I've learnt the hard way over the years, so you don't have to!)

But to give you an indication, you will at the very least have to buy a domain name (roughly $15 per year) and pay for hosting (roughly $5 per month). If you decide to blog about something very visual (fashion, food, home improvement, crafts etc.), I would also strongly advise you to buy a proper DSLR camera - but if money is super tight, you can get away with using your smartphone to start with.

This may seem like a lot, but when you compare it with the costs of starting almost ANY OTHER type of business, where you'd have to buy stock, pay rent, business rates and so on, it's actually very cheap to start a blog and the potential rewards are often bigger than traditional businesses too!

Can I do this course in any order?

I wouldn’t recommend that approach. I have deliberately designed this course in a specific order, as I think this is the best way to approach starting a blog and making money from blogging. I also assume knowledge from previous units as you progress through the course and I assume that you have done the actions in the previous units too! 

When does the course start and finish?

The course starts now and never ends! It is a completely self-paced online course - you decide when you start and when you finish.

How long do I have access to the course?

How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like - across any and all devices you own.
