Unit 3 - How Not To Fail

TRANSCRIPT

In this course, one of the key techniques I teach is what I call Money Task First. I'll cover this properly in later lessons. But the basic principle is simple... One of the reasons bloggers and online business owners are not more successful is the very tasks that would actually move their business forward, the tasks that would make them the most money, the tasks that would actually help them get to a place where they could earn more while working less, are the exact same tasks that typically languish at the bottom of the to do list.

In other words, the very tasks that should be TOP PRIORITY are the ones that NEVER GET DONE.

Why?

Because they get crowded out by all the Low Impact Tasks and 'busy work' that you feel you 'have' to do every day - things like social media, emails, admin... and sometimes even writing blog posts! (More about this later.)

And also because those High Impact Tasks - those tasks that would really drive your business forward, feel a bit daunting and scary... and a bit too much like 'work'.

Low Impact Tasks generally feel easier and more 'fun', so we prioritize them instead.

That's where The Money Task First Principle comes in.

The Money Task First Principle says 'Do the task that's going to have the biggest impact on your bottom line FIRST every day' and don't allow yourself to do anything else until you've done your Money Task for the day.

Why am I telling you this now? Because right now DOING THIS COURSE is your Most Impactful Task. Right now doing this course is your Money Task.

This course will radically change the way you work - and, if you do it properly, it should massively boost your productivity - meaning you can work LESS and achieve MORE.

But it can only have that effect if you make this course your NUMBER ONE PRIORITY.

So, the BEST WAY not to fail at this course is simply to PRIORITIZE this course.

Now you can do that in one of two ways:

1) Follow The Money Task First Principle and don't allow yourself to do ANY OTHER WORK each day until you have done at least 1 hour of this course. (If you have other work you have to do outside of blogging - a 9-5 job, for example - then you can adapt this principle to fit your specific availability. The rule for you is 'no other blog-related work until you have done a good chunk of this course each day'.)

2) If you have the flexibility in your schedule and you want to get the fastest results, then just make doing this course your #1 priority, PERIOD. Clear your schedule and do no other work AT ALL until you've completed this course.

ASSIGNMENT

  1. Decide which strategy you will employ.
  2. Block out the time you plan to spend on this course on your calendar and consider it a fixed, non-negotiable appointment.
  3. Don't allow yourself to do any other work on your blog each day, until you have first done at least one hour of this course.
